Good to know
Four bedrooms, three full baths, sleeps 12 — across three floors on a wooded acre at Deep Creek Lake. The game room is where groups end up: pool table, dart board, board games, and the pickleball equipment for the neighborhood court. Outside there's a seven-person hot tub, a fire pit, a large deck with room to eat outside, and a gas grill on the lower level. Inside, a wood-burning fireplace warms the whole house in about fifteen minutes. The dining table actually seats the group — nobody eats standing up. The kitchen is stocked well past the basics: cookware, bakeware, common spices, plus a rice cooker, crock pot, hand mixer, blender and toaster. Central air conditioning throughout, and a full-size washer and dryer in the house — no laundromat runs mid-week. Set up for kids — a crib, a high chair, and a drawer of books and games upstairs. The loft daybed has a trundle if someone small wants to sleep near you.
Other Details to Note
A few things worth knowing before you book. About the yard: it's a wooded acre-plus, and you will see wildlife. Deer most mornings, plus squirrels and chipmunks, and occasionally a bear passing through. That's why all trash goes in the locked can at the end of the driveway and nothing edible stays outside overnight. Firewood: no firewood provided — a bundle runs about $7 nearby. Parking: please park in the driveway rather than on the street so service and snow trucks can get through. House rules: quiet hours after 10pm, and no pets, smoking indoors, or parties. If something isn't right, tell us during your stay and we'll sort it.

Hibernation Station sits in The Pinnacle, a quiet private community on the Glendale side of Deep Creek Lake — two concentric circles with no through traffic, good for an evening walk or a bike ride. The water is a short walk from the door, with dock access through the neighborhood. Boating, fishing and swimming in the warmer months, hiking trails year-round. Wisp Resort is about 15 minutes away for ski season. Oakland is 15 minutes for restaurants and the Autumn Glory Festival. Deep Creek Lake State Park is 5 minutes, and Swallow Falls is about 20.
Guest Access
You have the whole house — all four bedrooms, three full baths, the kitchen, the great room, the game room and the loft. Nothing is locked off and nobody else is on the property. Check-in is self-service with a door code, so you can arrive whenever suits you. Dock access and a boat house through the neighborhood, and the tennis, basketball and pickleball courts are open to guests. There's room for four or five cars in the driveway.
